I am also: A daughter, a parent, a mother to two little humans, a community organizer, swimmer, teacher, partner, cook, gardener, book nerd, game lover, cheerleader, and a good friend.
We are more than just our work. We are community members, friends, relationships, hobbies, interests, and so much more.
Leadership starts with being deeply, fiercely human, and honoring the interconnections between all of us.
Why I Started This Work
When I first became a mother, I quickly realized that the leadership spaces around me weren’t built for the wholeness of women’s lives — especially not for mothers, caregivers, or anyone carrying invisible loads. To me, it didn’t look like “hustling harder” was getting anyone anywhere. Plus, parents were the definition of hustle—shouting at women to work harder sounded like terrible advice.
I wanted more. Depth. Community. Wisdom. A room where women could show up fully — brilliant, ambitious, messy, and human — and be met with respect, curiosity, and real support.
At first, I started The Wise Women’s Council for women at the intersection of motherhood and business. But over time, I realized that women in mid-life were navigating a huge number of life unfoldings—perimenopause, career change, relationships, identity—and journey to mother (or not to mother) was one of many, many big shifts that happens during our lifetime.
The Wise Women’s Council began as a circle for women like me. It’s grown into a leadership incubator, a sanctuary, and a sounding board for culture makers, business leaders, and change agents who are ready to do work differently.
PERSONAL VALUES
Here are a few of my core values that I carry with me in my relationships and in the work I do.
Curiosity — “Why does this make sense? What does this mean? What else?”
Empathy — “I want to understand you.”
Kindness — “I care for you, me, and us.”
Bravery — “Try it and see.”
In addition, after a years-long medical journey, coupled with the burnout and hustle-mania of the corporate world, I added the following values to help me move towards more joy, pleasure, and embodiment in this life.
Play — “How can this be more fun and delightful?”
Pleasure — “Can I spend more time with feelings of joy and pleasure?”
Embodiment — “What is my body telling me?”
