    OUR STORY

Why we created The Wise Women’s Council

We created this space because we realized that traditional leadership models weren’t built for us—especially not for women who are also navigating full lives, big transitions, and growing into their wiser, older selves.

Leadership can feel lonely. And as a woman, it often is. You’re the only one in the boardroom, the only executive; the only mother, or a CEO of a new company. That’s why we need a dedicated space for women’s leadership and growth.

When women are called to lead, it’s often right when we are simultaneously major navigating life transitions. Consider all that can happen in midlife: starting a family, deciding whether or not to have children, taking care of elders, navigating partnership, romance, or divorce, managing identity shifts, dealing with career changes, re-aligning your life’s work, taking career pauses or navigating re-entries — these are just some of the big moments in our careers and lives. These are huge moments. We shouldn’t do this alone, with no map and no real support. We need more connection, community, and support that we can trust.

The Wise Women’s Council is a space for deep connection, honest conversation, and depth.

We’re a group of women from our mid-thirties to our late fifties, examining and questioning all that midlife can be. The Wise Women’s Council is a space where we re-imagine women’s leadership, break cycles of burnout, and support one another in building lives and businesses with more integrity, clarity, and joy.

    VISION

We believe leadership doesn’t have to come at the cost of your health, family, or values. Our purpose is to help women leaders find their voice, clarify their vision, and lead from a place of wisdom.

At the Wise Women’s Council, our vision is to cultivate a world where women leaders are supported, celebrated, and empowered to make impactful changes. We are committed to fostering a community that values inclusivity, innovation, and resilience. Our members are diverse, ranging from entrepreneurs and executives to creatives and changemakers, all united by a shared goal of personal and professional development. We invite you to join us in this transformative journey, where your potential is nurtured, and your leadership skills are honed.

    Our Values

We don’t have to do things the way they’ve always been done.

This is our foundational belief — that we can live, work, and lead differently. This can take many forms: women in our community are shifting how they work, how they parent, and how they lead to match the wisdom and talents that they have to share. We believe that you have a wise inner voice that’s worth tapping into. And that your voices and perspectives matter. That you shouldn’t have to hide or fit into the stereotypes of hustle culture.

We are interconnected, and there is wisdom in the spaces in between and among us

There is wisdom that’s generated through an ancient form of community: the lost art of conversation. When we gather together and talk freely — when we ramble, layer, and add-on, and when we experience deep listening and connection — there is magic that results. The Wise Women’s Council structure allows you to tap into this interconnected wisdom by being part of ongoing, unfolding community conversations.

    Some of our values

    • “In my experience,” — each person has individual experiences that matter.
    • Depth over busy
    • Hustle is a dial
    • Community over isolation
    • Integration over compartmentalization
    • Agency, choice, and rest
    • Humor and humanity

“I honestly don’t know who I would be without the Wise Women’s Council. I don’t know how you led us through this in a pandemic, but it was everything I needed and more.”

    — MaryKate, Senior Transportation & Engineering Consultant

I couldn’t have imagined a more supportive community that helped me not just survive, but at times thrive, during a pandemic when I was working in an executive full-time role and parenting a young child.

I knew going into 2021 that it would be a hard year to establish new friendships in person, so I thought that it would be a great opportunity to meet new people online in a similar stage of life to me.

What I didn’t expect was just how expansive WWC was for me. The people I met, what I learned both about myself and the world – it truly expanded what I thought was possible about working parenthood.

    — Jessica Wan, Executive Leader

There is no way to describe what it feels like to be validated across all areas of life. So much of being a woman (and more so, a mom) makes one feel invisible. In this space I felt seen and heard by really smart, funny, and fearless parents.

    — Stefanie M. Falconi, Policy Entrepreneur
